Bayou District Foundation – New Orleans, LA

Suddes Partners has been engaged by the Bayou District foundation in the redevelopment of the St. Bernard Community in New Orleans, Louisiana. Suddes Partners will work to secure vital capital funding to transform the community and plan for long-term sustainability for this community.

This project, costing over $233M in all, will create a space for life to begin again in a once poverty-stricken neighborhood that was submerged in Hurricane Katrina floodwaters for more than 21 days. The philanthropic board of directors aims to break the cycle of poverty by creating and funding a healthy, sustainable, mixed-income community complete with schools, recreational facilities, and other amenities that attract former residents and private investments to the community.

Phase I of the project includes: 465 mixed housing units, an early childhood learning center, K-8 charter school, a YMCA, 18-hole championship golf course, nine hole executive golf course, First Tee learning facility, duel-ended driving range, and baseball, soccer, and softball fields.

The final phase will include an administrative and technology/media center.

This $12.6 million project will significantly enhance the educational experience for all St. Andrew’s students, as well as provide opportunities for the community at large. Suddes Partners is proud to participate in this “transformational” campaign and building project.

The Geneva School- Winter Park, FL

In only 14 short years, The Geneva School has become well established in the Orlando community for its unique and substantial Christian classical mission and curriculum. A classical Christian education is based on the trivium model which blends three stages of education: Grammar, Dialectic, and Rhetoric to accumulate the “tools of learning,” the cultivation of wisdom.

Suddes Partners is thrilled to work with The Geneva School in developing and executing a $25 million capital campaign that will make their vision of a new campus, seated on a 52-acre lakefront property, a reality. The outcome of this project will result in a sustainable model that will allow The Geneva School to continue to grow and serve as a model of Christian classical education around the country.

Suddes Partners is serving as development counsel to the Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA to raise essential capital dollars to build a $4 million Teen Center to engage area youth in positive programs and activities.

For over 40 years, the Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA has been a key provider of critical services to the citizens of Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Orange County, and has had a positive impact on children, teens, adults and seniors. Since the facility’s expansion in 2001, membership has doubled and the YMCA is reaching over 1,000 children through its summer and after-school programs. In an effort to reach and provide opportunities for the teenage population in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro area, the YMCA is building a state-of-the-art Teen Center behind the current facility.
